Recent headlines in the news have raised concerns about chemicals from plastic bottles leaching into our water.
Apparently, if you look on the bottom of your water bottle and you see a 7 inside the little recycling triangle, the container may contain Bisphenol A. If you see a 1, 2, 4, or 5, the container does not contain any Bisphenol A, phthalates or styrene, so it would be the best choice for anyone who is concerned about the potential effect on our health from these chemicals.
Water bottles are not the only concern, however, since the lining in many cans also contain this chemical and acidity from foods such as tomatoes increases the likelihood of leaching.
Yikes, I do use a lot of canned tomato products. May be time to re-think that.
