When I stopped by Borden Communications yesterday, I picked up this bottle of Prana Chia Oil. I have mentioned this product before, after sampling it at a trade show, but I am happy to get the chance to try it out more extensively.
Chia seems to be the new “it” superfood. This great product provides 8.5 grams of Omega-3 fatty acids in just one Tablespoon! Among its many other virtues, Omega-3 has an anti-inflammatory effect that benefits your circulatory system for heart health. It is also a great source of antioxidants! There is no strong fishy taste and no risk of heavy metal toxicity.
I plan to add this oil to my salads, smoothies, sauces and soups (after cooking as the oil should never be heated).

Flax seeds and chia seeds are also great sources for Omega 3. The benefit of flax seed and the benefit of chia seeds are many. Both flax seed and chia seeds contain fiber, Omega-3 and lignans. This helps lower cholesterol and can also benefit people at risk for diabetes by regulating blood sugar by slowing down the body's absorption of sugar. Flax seed and chia seeds are also both great sources for antioxidants.
