I love listening to an interesting book while I walk. Looking forward to the next chapter motivates me to get outside and exercise when I am feeling less than energetic. However, usually, one listen is enough, and purchasing as many titles as I would like to hear would be exorbitantly costly.
A great resource that many people do not realize exists is free book downloads from your local library. Our local library has titles from Overdrive and Neti Library.
I am currently listening to “The Forsyte Saga”, which is read by a guy with a great plummy, English accent. I have enjoyed other classic novels, such as “Brideshead Revisited” (read by the amazing Jeremy Irons) as well as non-fiction galore.
For hours of fun, check it out – all you need is a library card!

We cancelled our cable account several months ago. We *discovered* our local library and it’s a jewel. They carry a good variety of books, cds, and dvds. They also carry all the HBO shows like The Sopranos and Sex in the City.
I’ve yet to find a good audio book from the library — at least the selection from ours is pretty minimal.
