Yesterday was a perfect spring day. We don’t get a lot of them here in southern Ontario, usually we go straight from snow in May to boiling hot humidity in June.
I stopped at the waterfront and took a little stroll. I was really in the moment, enjoying the soft breeze, the sun on my skin and the sparkling blue water when I began to notice all the garbage just chucked all over the place.
I have to say, seeing the coke cans and water bottles and food wrappers really put a damper on my mood.
What on earth is wrong with people! I just can’t understand why someone would go to a beautiful park to enjoy the experience and then be too lazy and thoughtless as to drop their garbage on the ground. I mean, how difficult is it to just hang onto it for the 2 to 3 minutes it takes to get to the trash bins in the parking lot?
No wonder we have such a problem with pollution in our world. Everyone seems to think that it is someone else’s job to keep things tidy and clean.
Earth day is coming up soon. Why don’t we all make more of an effort to do our part?
