I am going to offer a few simple steps to help you not gain weight:1. Never eat until you feel completely full. It takes 20 minutes for the brain to catch up with the stomach, so when you think you are still hungry, wait awhile. Otherwise you will end up overstuffing yourself and consequently gaining weight.2. Have an active lifestyle – scrub the floor, go for a walk, lift a few weights and then stretch out your muscles, bike to the park, go in-line skating, dig in the garden, and so on. . . just keep moving! Remember the law of inertia (things at rest tend to stay at rest – so stay off the couch) and don’t let it rule your life!
3. Eat healthy foods, mostly plants. Severely limit processed foods high in sugar, fat, chemicals, preservatives and white flour. Eat lots of beans, which are high in protein and fiber and are very satisfying. Have all the vegetables and fruits you can eat. Fruit makes an ideal snack. A big salad with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar with mustard is delicious and good for you. A handful of nuts and seeds are a crunchy, delicious addition that provides essential oils and protein. Some of the world’s healthiest people, such as the Okinawans, eat very little meat, dairy or eggs and pretty much no processed foods or sugar. Don’t worry about protein – even a vegan diet provides plenty if you are eating healthy foods. That’s pretty much it – enjoy your food!
