The End of Summer

Okay, so summer is over (such as it was with all that rain) and the kids are back in school. Time to get down to business! One of my looming projects is finally tackling my excess stuff. I have been holding on to all kinds of stuff I neither love nor use. Why on earth would anyone in their right mind keep a bunch of worn through socks? Umm, someone who thinks they could be used for something, like making a snake toy, or for dusting, or, errr……well, I just feel bad picturing them lying in a dump somewhere. So for anyone else who suffers from garbage guilt, here is some news – whatever items that Goodwill deems unsaleable, they sell to rag companies who then recycle said items into all kinds of useful goods! Yay, that is just the motivation I need to start chucking and I have already filled up a large box with still wearable items and two bags with fabric scraps that I have labelled “recycle”. This really should be common knowledge so people don’t throw items into landfills that could be reused or recycled.
