Cabbages in Cabbagetown

I did some travelling in my own town this weekend.

First up was Cabbagetown, for an Arts and Crafts Sale in Riverdale Park.

While walking there, on Parliament Street, my friend Mindy and I nipped into a small shop. Mindy purchased a long denim skirt encrusted with gold and silver embroidery. I tried on a deep burgundy red silk Indian outfit I think it is called a Salwar Kameez) that was absolutely gorgeous, but it needed alterations and was not cheap. I like the idea of wearing what basically amounts to pajamas, but looks incredibly elegant and dressy.

At the arts and crafts fair I bought some non-GMO soynuts (dill pickle and sesame) and a small pot of lip gloss in a vanilla cupcake flavor. The balm contains only natural ingredients like coconut oil, sweet almond oil and castor seed oil with stevia as a sweetener. Not that I really need any more lip goo, but it smelled so delicious I threw caution to the wind and handed over my six bucks. The package is a cute little pot that is shaped like a cupcake. I hope using it will help me resist the real thing. My sweet tooth is kind of out of control these days.

I love the decorative cabbages that are everywhere this time of year. This part of Toronto is named after these nice looking plants. Pretty, and you can eat them if you like!
